About Me
Hello! I am Chris McLain, and I am currently a resident in Northeast Wisconsin with my wife, Mandy. We have lived in the region for the past 16 years. At first, we came to serve at Northland International University. However, after the college's closing, we chose to stay and serve in the local community we have grown to love. My wife and I have three daughters. Morgann, our oldest, is married and living in Kansas. Our middle daughter, Madison, is an assistant manager at Woodman's Grocery Store in western Wisconsin. Our youngest, Masy, is an IT support technician for H&R Block in western Wisconsin.

Mandy and I are now empty-nesters. We attend Dunbar Community Bible Church and help lead an after-school youth program for the kids in the local community. We take every opportunity to build relationships in the community and share the Gospel. Over the past nine years, I have had the opportunity to assist in coaching football, wrestling, and softball while teaching 6th-12th grade history and social studies at our local public school.

All of my hobbies take place outdoors. Mandy and I have a little hobby farm with chickens, pigs, rabbits, and a garden. I hike, cut firewood, hunt, canoe, and snowshoe in the winter. I have used the outdoors as an outreach for youth, organizing canoe and/or backpacking trips to the Upper Peninsula, Canada, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota.

Mandy and I are both passionate about education. It is in our blood; we come from teacher families. I finish an EdD in Educational Leadership at Liberty University to prepare myself to help educators, students, and parents be successful in their academic goals. My goal is to position myself to help others be successful and build strong cultures so students get the best possible experience.
As a teacher with 30 years of experience, I have discovered and researched that learning best occurs when there is a healthy classroom relationship between the teacher and student. The focus of this relationship should be on the development of the student academically, social-emotionally, and mentally. From this vision, my desire is to help teachers, parents, and students learn how to develop positive, healthy relationship, so they can make the greatest impact toward their goals.

My perspective of education and relationships is informed by a biblical worldview. I believe every individual is created in the image of God (Gen. 1) and is uniquely and wonderfully made (Ps 139). Because of these truths, every student has value and deserves the best education available to help them become the best version of themselves as designed by God. The relationship between the teacher and student is similar to the one modeled between Jesus Christ and his disciples. A mentoring relationship which seeks to discover, develop, and deploy truth in accords with God's will and bring glory to his name.
